Hello.

Quiet is the New Loud pays homage to iconic radio shows like FM 94/9’s Big Sonic Chill and Indie 103.1's Big Sonic Heaven, and draws its name from Norwegian folk-pop duo Kings of Convenience’s first album.  Quiet is the New Loud is a radio program that doesn’t seek to reinvent chill-out radio, but further explores the ambient, chill-out, dream-pop, down-tempo, dark wave, bliss-pop, Britpop and Shoegaze genres.

On Quiet is the New Loud, expect to hear artists like: M83, Sigur Ros, Massive Attack, Air, My Bloody Valentine, Röyksopp, Radiohead, Bat for Lashes, Fever Ray, Mew, Azure Ray, Metronomy, Mogwai, Tycho, The Album Leaf, Starflyer 59 and Kings of Convenience.

  1. Hey Allie,

I absolutely love the title to your blog. A title can catch the attention of person enough to bring them to the page even in the middle of searching for something else. Quiet is the New Loud is one of those sayings that should be the title of a movie or television series. I see that you did update the visuals of your blog from my last visit. It is brighter which I love. White is very clean and attractive to look at. What I also like about your blog are the additional pictures you have added. They work excellently in breaking up the text with something stimulating for the eyes.
My only critique is in the domain choice for your blog. I understand you reasoning for choosing it, but my experience in the media industry has taught me a few things. The first thing is appeal. It needs to look good and sound good. Have you imagined telling a friend about your blog? If not, then you should. Tell them to visit your blog then give them the URL. You might find you would have to spell it out a couple of times and they could still misspell it because it is not a traditional or recognizable word. More like an acronym. I would like to see the domain name as the new loud if it’s available. It is still attractive and conveys the message of your blog. It would also look appealing if I saw it anywhere. http://thenewloud.blogspot.com/. Overall, your blog is excellent. Great work!
